Teams from the United States and other countries traveled to London to participate in an outreach to tourists and immigrants, distributing evangelistic packets containing a New Testament, a “Magdalena” DVD, and other Christian materials. Two followers of another religion approached one team member and asked her what she was doing. The team member shared her testimony with the two women, and one of them started to cry. The other said, “Wow! I have never heard of such a beautiful story before.” Both women wanted a DVD. When the volunteer asked if they would like to pray to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, they both said yes! She prayed with them on a London street as their lives were changed by Jesus.

Ministry teams reached out to the educational community in Zoravan, Armenia. The Holy Spirit moved in a mighty way among a group of elderly teachers as a ministry team leader shared the message of eternal life and explained how they could receive this free gift. As team members distributed “Magdalena” DVDs, many of the teachers invited Christ to be Lord and Savior. “We were happy to see their faces full of excitement,” related one team member. Praise the Lord for open doors to share the gospel with these teachers. Pray for the opportunities they will have to introduce their students to Jesus!

Michelle teaches a “Reflections of Hope” Bible study at The Lovelady Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Each time she begins a new class, she shares a story about the emperor moth to illustrate “… the struggle which the moth undergoes to emerge the beautiful winged creature God intended it to be.” Michelle then introduces a family of grub worms. As the women follow the lessons in “Reflections of Hope” each week, they observe God’s process of change in creatures that appear to be little more than “pieces of dirt” in the beginning. Michelle relates each lesson to something happening with the grub worms. The week the women studied “Will He free me?” Michelle notes: “We saw our butterflies emerge and set them free as a living illustration of their [the women’s] new life in Christ.” Have you experienced new life in Christ? How has Jesus transformed you?

The newly formed congregation of Revival Christian Church hosted a “Magdalena” showing at the downtown YMCA. A small group of 10 women and several men attended the showing and were touched by the movie. One woman wondered if God had truly forgiven her past sins and mistakes. After watching the film she was assured of God’s complete forgiveness. Another exclaimed over and over, “He did it just for me!” after seeing Jesus’ compassion and sacrifice expressed through the film.

Watching “Magdalena” was a “beautiful experience,” commented Pastor Elonda, who planned the event. The young church has plans for a future “Magdalena” showing after receiving requests from those who attended the event.

Although women are the obvious audience, men have commented that this film shows them how to treat women by watching how Jesus valued and treated them. One church in South America hosted a “Magdalena” event. Contrary to instructions, many of the women brought their husbands, and by the end of the film tears streamed down the faces of both men and women. Many couples experienced marriage reconciliation as a result of watching “Magdalena” together that night.

Have you thought of sharing “Magdalena” with the men in your life?

“Magdalena: Through Her Eyes,” is the true story of Jesus seen through the eyes of Mary Magdalene – a story of tenderness, freedom and purpose. Through Mary’s eyes, we experience much more than just her own transformation by Jesus’ redemptive love. As you watch, the woman at the well realizes that Jesus is the Messiah, the woman caught in adultery walks away in forgiveness, and the woman healed of bleeding is restored to health, physically and spiritually. These Biblical stories bring into clear focus how much Jesus values and affirms women. Then and now, Jesus reaches out to women in the midst of their struggles and sin.

With whom can you share Jesus’ message of love this Easter?
