Women Today
"Perhaps God Almighty would love a holy man, but not someone like me." ~ Rivka, Magdalena: Released From Shame
In the film Magdalena: Released from Shame, Jesus touched women’s hearts so deeply. Yet, the question is, “Does He still touch women in this way today?” Here you will find women’s stories of how Jesus has touched and changed their lives. We trust you will see a piece of yourself in at least one of these four stories. At the bottom you may click on one of the three banners that will result in a personal response from someone who cares about helping you along your journey of life.
Norma
"Without God, I know I’d be dead." On drugs at age 14 and an alcoholic at age 17, Norma was in and out of mental institutes because of multiple suicide attempts. Like Rivka in Magdalena: Released From Shame, she was asking the question, "Does God know who I am and what I do?" After encountering Jesus at a church service, she realized He was more concerned about her future than her past.

Anna
Anna was raised in a Christian home and wanted to follow Jesus from the time she was a little girl. However, some tragic situations in her life cause her to question whether God was really good. As the woman healed from bleeding in Magdalena: Released From Shame may have asked, Anna asked the question, "Would a loving God allow bad things to happen to good people?" As she continued to trust God through her difficult situation, she realized God’s strength, love and faithfulness were unchanging even though she often felt like she was losing her faith. Later she saw God’s purpose in her pain and experienced His unfailing love.

Lisa
Lisa came from a chaotic childhood. As problems continued to bombard her , she may have felt as if under a demonic attack—a bit like Mary Magdalene in Magdalena: Released From Shame. While witnessing her mother being abused by boyfriends in the house, Lisa too experienced physical and sexual abuse. When Lisa was 19, her mother was murdered, leading her to a life of drugs, alcohol, sex and abortion to numb the pain. After encountering Christ and receiving His forgiveness, she was faced with the question, "Can God free me from the pain and abuse of my hurtful past?"

Robin
Like the woman at the well in Magdalena: Released From Shame, Robin lived many years saying to herself, "I don’t believe that God will forgive me for what I have done." In college she became pregnant and had an abortion. She looked for the comfort of God and after many years came to realize she needed to ask forgiveness for the wrong she had committed. Upon doing this she felt God’s love, peace, comfort and forgiveness.
